Above is the envelope that had the owner’s manuals and other documents for a Heritage DS organ made by The Lowrey Organ Company. The documents were shipped inside this envelope, which has “Heritage Model” stamped across the corner of the envelope in red. The Heritage DS was made in 1958.

From what I’ve read and researched about The Lowrey Organ Company, when you purchased an organ (at least in the early days) you did not get a “Schematics Manual” or any fix-it documents. You had to purchase those separately. I believe they included an Owner’s Manual, but maybe they charged for that too. Nowadays music instrument manufacturers include a manual (sometimes very long and expansive, sometimes brief) and/or publish these documents on the web (or mail you one if you “write” to them) when you purchase an instrument.
