KNACKBASS, in technical jargon, was characteristic of Kaempfert’s SWING sound. The idea behind it was to have a bass sound that you could hear through small radio speakers.
The “Knack-Bass” is a distinctive percussive bass sound that was developed by German musician Miloslav Ladislav “Ladi” Geisler. Geisler is best known for his work with pop musicians like Bert Kaempfert, James Last, and Freddy Quinn. The Knack-Bass helped popularize the Bert Kaempfert Orchestra.
