My Song Choice and First ever Audio Recording on the Lowrey Stardust
Choosing something you like to listen to and play on your Lowrey, I feel is far more important than just playing something just because that is the order in which your course teacher or none of the many “Learn to Play the Organ” course book suggests you do.
Just by chance I was listening to some music on YouTube and in particular this music was being sung by a young lady called
Devyn Rush
The song I decided upon was the soundtrack for a film produced in 1965 called Harlow, and the music
GIRL TALK by Neil Hefti
Another good version byJack Jones (no relation)
This was going to be the one, the first song I wanted to play and learn how to play properly from start to finish.
I first needed to find some music and a quick search on google found the song and pointed me in the direction of EBay. This song was in a collection of others in a book called “Lounge Music” published by Hal Leonard, this not only had the music for this particular track but also many others I liked as well, so I purchased a copy straight away.
It was not a quick process as I have already stated, I cannot read music so it was quite a learning curve.
Below I will post my personal rendition of this music, it has a feel like the original, and slowly builds up in intensity with full orchestration added at the end.
I really do enjoy playing it !!!!
