At the time of writing this in September 2017, the Lowrey Organ I currently own as shown below is the Lowrey Stardust, and is the first organ I have personally owned, but not the first I have ever played.
For me, it was the best cchoice and value for the money I wanted to pay or the current budget would allow, and at the time of purchase I had no previous playing experience on a Lowrey apart from when i was only 12 a mere 47 years ago.
The later and more up to date models are of course more sophisticated and have more outstanding specifications and features along with stating they have superior sound quality due to better sampling, but they still have a familiar layout and aesthetic look that i am currently used to, so something to consider as an upgrade/trade-in later on perhaps ?
For me the Lowrey Stardust was just right to continue from where I left of all those years ago, and would provide a great platform for learning to play properly and yet still have enough features and quality voices built in to keep me going enthusiastic for the next few years. I am a firm believer and state this many times on the videos, articles I write and even on my T-Shirts . . . . . . . .
It’s not what you have that matters
but how you play it
